The main components of an AC generator are shown below:
- stator.
- Rotor.
- cooling system.
- exciter.
- switch. STATOR
The key elements of the stator of an AC generator are as follows:
- mechanical components.
- wye system.
- Delta Connection System.
- the housing.
- the core.
- coils.
- terminal box.
To produce the magnetic field on the rotor poles are used packages consisting of magnetic iron laminations (to reduce circulating currents called) with copper wire coiled around the iron, these poles are excited by direct current. The rotor poles are arranged in pairs located or separated by 180 ยบ. From the construction point of view, the rotors are constructed of salient pole type (low speed) or cylindrical rotor (high speed).
output voltage phase. a generator having an output voltage phase, it is called single-phase . This output voltage is obtained with a set of armature coils on the stator, if it is a single-phase two-pole, then it is said that these poles are North and South with drivers who are part of the continuous armature conductors and filling the slots of the stator.
The slots are mechanically and electrically by 180 °, so that when the flow from the North Pole intersects the side A (1) of the driver, the flow returns to the South Pole intersects the side A (2) of the duct, which resulted in the generation a voltage spike from A (1) and A (2). When north and south poles are perpendicular to the plane of the conductors A (1) and A (2), no lines of force to intercept drivers and then the voltage difference between A (1) and A (2 ) is zero. When the rotor completes one revolution (360 °) is said to have completed a cycle.
