How Do You Stop Colors From Running

What is a generator?

A generator is any device capable of maintaining a electrical potential difference between two points, called centers, terminals or terminals . Electric generators are machines designed to transform mechanical energy into electrical . This transformation is achieved by the action of a magnetic field on electrical conductors arranged on a frame (also called stator). If nicamente mechanical relative movement occurs between the conductors and the field, generate a electromotive force (EMF).
essentially be classified in:
  • Primary: convert energy into electrical energy of any other nature or which are initially available.
  • Secondary: Deliver part of the power they have received previously.

Principle of Operation The operation of the AC generator is based on the general principle of induction voltage in a conductor moving as it passes through a magnetic field.

This generator consists of two main parts, the inductor, which is what creates the magnetic field and induced as a conductor which is crossed by lines of force of the field.

Figure 1 .- Layout of elements in a simple generator

Thus, in the generator shown in Figure 1, the inductor consists of the rotor R, with four magnetic pieces, which for simplicity are permanent magnets whose polarity is indicated, and the rotor or stator coils of wire wound on the pole pieces.

The four coils ab, cd, ef and gh, rolled on pieces of a ferromagnetic alloy (pole pieces) are magnetized under the action of the magnets of the inductor. Since the inductor is rotating, the magnetic field acting on the four lugs changes direction when the rotor rotates 90 degrees (changing from north pole to pole S), and its intensity passes a maximum when the pieces are facing as the figure, at a minimum when the poles N and S are equidistant from the iron pieces.

Are these variations of meaning and intensity of the magnetic field which in the four coils induce a potential difference (voltage) that changes in value and polarity to the rhythm of the field.

The frequency of the alternating current that appears across the terminals AB is obtained by multiplying the number of turns per second inductor by the number of pairs of poles of the armature (in our case 2), and the generated voltage depends on the strength magnets (field strength), the number of turns of the coil almbre and speed of rotation.

For a better explanation I leave this performance link where you may see a java application that will show us the operation of an elementary stream generator.
